Tips to Lower Toner Usage

  • Reduce the printer’s resolution.  If printer is set to print in 1200dpi reduce to 600dpi or 300dpi.  A lower dpi will also allow the printer to print faster.  Usually, 600 dpi is very good for general office documents.
  • Ensure Copy, Print and Fax resolution settings are at normal or lower.  Often, an intensity setting can be adjusted lower. Sometimes the photo or gray scale setting is the cause of increased toner usage.
  • Reduce the density of copied or faxed printed pages.
  • Settings are usually found in the printer’s control panel,  software settings, in the printer driver at the time of printing, or when adjusting properties.
  • Consult the printer manual for more detailed instructions and more information.   If you need further information, let us know below.
